Mechanical timer not toggling power on and off

Nail files work good for cleaning contacts.

BINGO Zappa! I pulled out the entire body and the contacts were stuck together. I filed them down and cleaned them up. Now they release like the other pair next to them.

Thanks to all for your replies. You were able to get me focused on a specific area and identify the problem!

Kewl, don't forget, as a7ecorsair mentioned, that you have a brand new set of contacts you can switch over to if the timer gives you any more problems in the future

Mechanical timer not toggling power on and off

I have the same timer on my pool pump. It's been in use for 15 years now and last year it started doing the same thing but just the off switch doesn't work. It will come on but it won't switch off.
Thanks for all of your posts. I came online looking for a new timer and came across this chat. I just assumed I was in for a new timer and maybe I still am but I'm going to give this a try.
Thanks, John
