Maytag IntelliDry pye/4500 Dryer not working
Small appliance repair.....not sure where to post on the site but considering its an electrical issue i thought i'd post here.
My sis had a Maytag IntelliDry PYE/4500 dryer that stopped working. Problem proven to be the dryer itself considering I have proper 240v at dryer plug.
Dyer light does not come on and nothing working when set to desired drying cycle/times. Door switch checked and working properly and upon further troubleshooting found a blown internal fuse near heating element. Metered the heating element as well and no problems there.
I purchased a new fuse (3 actually....2 for spares). After installing the fuse, dryer light now turns on but dryer itself still not working. Timer is clicking away and "seems" to be operating properly.
Would anyone out there be familiar with the operation of Maytag appliances. I fiddled with a few appliances in my time but mainly fridges and stoves.
Just wondering if someone would have any tips on how I should go about any further trouble shooting. Dont believe it is the actual timer/dial but if so is there a proper way of testing one?
Thanks guys/gals !!!!
Someone here may have advice but I'd go to:
Never let me down.
Yes!!!! I stumbled upon that site and very helpful. There are a few things I'll have to test tomorrow and see if I can get that dryer working properly.
