low voltage lighting question please..

Hello

I just installed a 12 volt WAC linear track light....I put this on a single pole switch. When I first turn on the switch it takes a half second for the lights to turn on...but when I turn it on and off after it has been on..they go on instantaneously...Is it normal for a 12 volt transformer to have to "warm up"??

Yes. I've got low voltage cans and they do the same thing. They tend to lag a bit when you turn them off as well. I think this is more of a function of the lamp than anything else.
