Your probably right JV but I hate carrying the things in an attic, usually have my screw gun. Don't use nails much anymore. Tired of cracking drywall for various reasons. I hate spiders if I had a hammer it's hard telling the damage I might do.
We are getting more and more of these long legged spiders that have small bodies. You usually see them mostly in commercial buildings. Suckers are not afraid of you!!! They have an attitude and a big ego.... If I had a hammer the HO would probably think I was discharging a .357 mag as I fought with the little SOB.

Stubby-

I'm envisioning "whack a mole" from the county fair!

I feel for you as I almost lost my new LED flashlight in the sea of pink. Luckily when it fell it was on. I turned the attic light off and could see a soft glow. Sure saved a lot of digging.

On the note of those nasty looking spiders, I was down in Arkansas, helping my father in-law install some electrical for a waterfall pump. I was kicking all of the large pieces of shale out of the way for the dig and whoa! WTF! Scorpion! The little SOB is just staring at me, claws out, tail pointed at me. I tossed that piece of stone right back where I found it!<kuh-runch!>

Like a daddy longlegs?

Those things really give me the willies for some goofy reason.

I was nearly attacked once by a large aggressive tan spider (body about the size of a quarter) as I was entering my attic scuttle hole in the garage. Blasted thing blended right into the background! I sprayed it twice with Raid, still didn't kill it.

Yep, they don't die easily, however they do have a hard time when you thin them out a little with your linesmans. It causes them to lose their guts and the beggers pass the word (just before they die) that you should not fool with an electrician.

I've been in crawl spaces in the fall where you are reminded of the movie 'Star Troopers' where the earth is having a war with millions of bugs. Only in that movie they didn't have spiders ...good thing for earth..... I've read where if a grizzly bear is attacking you that it is best to just lie down and cover up. Interesting thought but I wouldn't try that with an aggressive spider or a wasp nest. Getting back to the bear... I'm sorry but he is just going to have to catch me and earn his meal and he better like sh###

I always tell the Ho my rates are variable depending on what I find in the crawl space....if when I drop into the scuttle hole and see jillions of spider nests and eggs sacks I am immediately using my 6X sheet.

I am also becoming pretty darn good at finding termites... always sets the mood with the HO ........ just before he gets my spider adjusted bill....
