losse light bulbs and dim slow ceiling fan
Hello, I have a home that was built in 1959. The garage was remodeled into a living room. The ceiling fan has very very dim lights and the fan barely moves. The utility room is beside the living room. I have a lamp in the utility room that the light bulb keeps getting loose (once a week). Everything else in both rooms works fine. Anybody have any ideas what might be happening? I don't have any problems with blown bulbs, just loose ones.
Need more information.
Assume a combined fan/light unit.
Dim light suggests a low voltage problem.
Did the fan/light ever work correctly?
If yes, then something has changed.
If no, they are probably not be wired correctly. Possibly the light bulb and the fan are incorrectly wired in series?
Are there separate switches for the light and fan?
If yes, must both be on to get light? Must both be on to rotate fan?
If yes, then they are most likely incorrectly wired (in series).
If no, another problem.
Please give more details.
Remove one light bulb from the fan and tell us what happens.
