Looking for a push button for garbage disposal

That's just a regular switch. I'm looking for a small push button or something similar to mount to the front of the sink cabinet.

These are NOT light switches...these are momentary...only closed when pressure is applied...strictly for garbage disposals.

Actually this one might be better:

The other one has a warning that it can cause cancer and birth defects!?!?!

I'm not looking for a light switch. I want this for my garbage disposal.

I give up.

Well, like I said earlier, McMaster-Carr is where I buy stuff like what you are wanting...cheap and quick.

Don't be pushing on that metal switch with wet hands.

Please don't consider using a NON-MOMENTARY switch for a disposal either...metal or not.

Bye now...I'm going to go reinvent the wheel.

Why not? I don't need a full sized light switch. I'm looking for something small to mount in the cabinet under the counter top. I don't want a full light switch box in there.

You aren't making this easy and it's becoming comical.

A non momentary switch is a switch that locks in the on position until you turn it back off. A momentary switch only stays engaged while you are pressing it.

You will need an enclosed box with all your connections to be code compliant I am sure.

What you should be looking for is a waterproof momentary pushbutton switch.

Unless this is going to be hidden totally inside the cabinet where you have to open the door to access it, I think it's an awful idea. Little kids love to push buttons.

I agree. BAD idea from the onset. They are usually put on the wall above the countertop for good reason. Besides kids, I'll bet you'll turn it on by accident just by bumping into it while near the sink.
