Lights on a timer.

I have a can light fixture installed over a shower that turns its self off after about 30 minutes. What part of this fixture is actually the timer, the can light or the switch?

Just replace the timer with a reguler switch.

If you're saying that there's no obvious timer switch and the light turns off after 30 minutes of being on, it is overheating and a safety device in the light housing is temporarily turning off the light. Not an ideal situation.

Try lowering bulb wattage and/or getting more clearance above the light can fixture.
