Lights take long time to turn on

Any ideas why my porch lights can take over 10 seconds to turn on? They have incandescence bulbs and are activated by a simple light switch (no two way). They seem to take longer the colder it is.

I agree with the CFL idea. But it could also be a fulty switch that the contactors are not closing quickly enough and it is taking longer for full voltage to get out to your light. Check your bulb first.

You may have a slow, or sluggish wall switch. A "cold" switch would be more sluggish.

Replace it, and see if that solves your problem.

I knew it. Once they started popping atoms in the LHC I knew they were going to make black holes and everybody knows that time is altered in a black hole.

the Earth has apparently started getting sucked into a black hole!!!!
