Lighting tip needed for vaulted ceiling

In terms of wiring, how can I install lighting in a vaulted ceiling where I can't run wires in the insulated area? In other words, it would need to be wired on the inside portion of the ceiling.

Not a big fan of those boxed runner strips. Any other thoughts? I'll be installing tongue and groove ceiling board and there will be timber trusses as well. Can I run it under some of that somehow?

If you are using the toung and groove, why can't you tear up the dry wall and run the wires inside the wall cavity?

I guess I should be more clear. This will be new construction. I am using a sip panel and I don't want to penetrate the structure. Therefore, I'd like to find a solution that can get the lighting up there without running it in the normal fashion.

There will be no drywall. SIP panel and t&g.

Any hollow beams running the peak? Maybe somekind of cosmetic decorative wood channel to run the romex in? Otherwise an old standby is wiremold but it aint very pretty.

Nope, nothing hollow. That's the problem. I may need to find some out of the box idea for lighting.

If you can router some channels in the timbers you could lay the romex in those then trim over.
