lighting lead wires
 

I am experienced in installing light fixtures but I have run into a problem I haven't before faced. The fixture I have purchased doesn't have the user friendly white a black lead wires, and instead has two solid black wires. I can't remember which connects to which. Does the grooved lead wire connect to white or black circuit wire?

If you mean one side has "ribs", this is the neutral wire.
