Lighting fixture may not be supported by nonmetallic conduit

whatrymes Member   Join Date: Mar 2011 Posts: 53	Lighting fixture may not be supported by nonmetallic conduit Section 347-3(b) in the NEC says that a lighting fixture may not be supported by nonmetallic conduit (pvc.) Is this the same as strapping a box to an outside wall, running pvc (properly bracketed) to the box from a jb at the sill and attaching the light fixture to the box? Thank you, Ed

I don't have the 2011 NEC, but Article 347 doesn't exist in the 2008 NEC. To answer your question, indepentantly securing the box to the building and mounting the light fixture to that is acceptable, as the RNC is not supporting the light...the box is. __________________ Kyle Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should
