Light won't turn off

Just moved into a new house. The kitchen light above the sink stays on unless i cut the breaker. It is connected to a single switch.
I tried replacing the switch, but it still didn't work.
The conduit running to the switch has 2black wires and one ground.

What do i need to do next to figure out the problem?

Pull the light down and tell us how it is wired.

Light won't turn off

If I had to guess, it is a miswired switch leg, and that power probably feeds either into that box, or another in the Kitchen, or miswired switched outlet.

What happens if you pull the breaker,
take all the wires off the switch,
Cap them all,
then turn on the breaker ?
Does the light still turn on ?

Two things come to mind. First...are you absolutely sure that switch is for the light? Where is it located? And secondly, since you have conduit () it's extremely easy to re-wire it. Open up the light fixture and see what goes where and pull or re-arrange the required wires....if that conduit actually goes to the light.

That's why I asked where it was located.

Wedge....tomorrow is Saturday....a great day to spend the morning mapping out every single outlet and switch and noting which breaker feeds it. If you have kids....it's a good project to involve them in.

First thing I did when I moved into my house was to map out the electrical. I even go as far as to mark the breaker # on the inside of wall plates. So, if I want to work on an outlet...I pull the plate...look at the #...go turn off that breaker.
