House is 4 yrs. old. Turned on light switch in laundry room overhead light; the bulb blew and the light switch also sparked but didn't shock me, nor did it trip the circuit breaker. This light fixture seems to need frequent bulb replacements. Is it a wiring issue or switch issue? Is this a fire hazard?
Measure the voltage in the socket with the bulb removed.
Is the bulb of too great a wattage for the fixture? More than 60 watts incandescent in an enclosed fixture is enough to at least raise an eyebrow although some fixtures can take a little more.
Usually lights are on a different circuit to appliances,
lights vs power.
different !
So yes you can use the dryer and washer.
Dont forget to let us know how it turns out !
