It depending on where you will run and what room this serve due there are few code related issue it may come up.

Just couple basic question to ask ya so we can steer ya in correct way.

What size conductor { wire } itself ??

How many conductors in the junction box now ??

What room it will be using the new receptale ??

those basic quesiton will help us to guide you in correct way in proper code.

Keep in your mind there are few rooms have a restrictive parts on code the Bathroom and Kitchens are pretty strict on it.
