Light fixture doesn't work

OK. Here's the deal, I decided to spray paint my half bath wall fixture. The wiring in the wall was: 2 white wires, 2 black wires, a ground wire and a green ground screw. I painted the fixture and now I re-attached everything, white to white, black to black and ground to ground and nothing. what am I doing wrong? Is the fixture ground supposed to be attached to the green screw only and the wall ground loose? That's how it looked before I took it off, but then again maybe I was seeing things. I'm scared to try anything else until I get some input. Thanks in advance.

All the grounds should be connected together and to the mounting plate.

Check you connections. Vibration may have broken the bulb filament.

OK so the two ground wires should be twisted together and attached to the green screw? Do I need one of those cap thingies on the end cause it doesn't have it like the other wires. Also, why are there two sets of wires in the wall (2black, 2 white)?

Is there another light or something that turns on with the light?

Let there be light!!! I think what my problem was ...was that I didn't screw the grounds tight enough against the metal plate...if that has anything to do with it....Thanks all.

Did you check the other connections because the ground should not be the problem in your case,
does The light have a black and white wires

Yes, please double check your white and black connections carefully. The fixture should still work even if the grounds are not connected to anything.

Thankfully the light works, now...! (Ignorance. (I don't mean it in a pejorative way) is Bliss, as the saying goes.) We didn't know why the light stopped working and we don't know why it's working again. Like 300ZX suggested. It wasn't because of the Ground. So It's good to keep in mind that Paint is an Electrical Insulator. Since you mentioned that you painted the fixture. It's possible that a drop of paint got on one of the terminals. (Hot or Neutral) That blocked the electricity from flowing.

Light fixture doesn't work

HI all. Actually I'm a female. And i think that when I was tightening those little cap thingies the fixture's wire kept on slipping, thus not fully being connected to the wall's wires. All fixed and the light has been working ever since. Thanks for the help.
