light bulb blew up

I bought a China cabinet from Ashley. There are 2 lights that shine down on the glasses and China. Both bulbs went out at the same time. One of them actually shattered. They are on a timer and run for 5 hours a day. They are maybe 2 months old. Other bulbs in new fixtures seem to be dying before their time also. The house was built in '96. Is there anything i can check? I'm thinking about switching over to LED.

Have your electrician measure incoming voltage at the service panel. You want 117 volts nominal.Other than that, look for 130 volt lamps.

Are those the high intensity lamps? I had a cabinet with that type and the bulbs burned out every few months. I switched them to regular globe incandescents and they have lasted for 3 years now. But yes, I need to have the voltage checked.
Do you want it your way or the right way?

LED bulbs would be a good start to reduce power consumption and extend bulb life....
