levington dimmer

I have a couple of levington IPI06-1LX dimmers from a friend of mine, there are 3 wires coming out the back,a ground, red and blk.Am I right to assume that these are single only? would the 3 way have 2 reds?
My kitchen is only a single pole..I hooked up blk to blk Hot and red to blk load..light turns on but does not dim. Same in the Master

Thanks in advance
Z

I also want to thank those who have help me with the few prodjets I have already completed

levington dimmer

This dimmer should have two reds a black and ground. It can be used in a 3-way or single pole operation sounds like the red for single pole operation is missing?
