LED potlights for soffit of my garage.

I just redid the wall of my garage facing the backyard with stone. Now I would like to add some lighting to it. Was going to place LED pot lights in the soffit and point it down at the wall/stone. From floor to soffit it is only 8 feet so i figure mini pot lights will be sufficient.

However can I use the regular LED pot lights they sell for under cabinets? Or do i need something rated for outdoor ? This is what I was looking at purchasing for the job.

Probably has to be rated for outside, and don't think they'd be bright enough anyway. I eventually want to add pot lights myself to my house and that thought came across, but don't think you could do that.

They won't be bright enough but before that I wouldn't recommend that application of lighting for that wall.
I don't think you'll be pleased with all the shadows the stones will create...but then again, that might the look your going for....

My recommendation:
Place the LED flood light(s) in or on the ground and focus it on the wall.

I'd use regular 4" recessed cans with LED or CFL lamps.

thanx for the tips guys. I will be buying a couple different ones and put them up temporarily to see which look/work better. As for going from the ground facing up unfortunately that application is not suitable for the area
