LED Pot Lighting Canadian Electrical Code?
New to DIY CHATROOM. Great site
I would like to install LED pot lighting in a bathroom. It is on the second floor and the pot light body would be in the attic. I know for standard pot lighting it must be in a metal box and covered so as to not have insulation contact the light. I have asked a few people if there is any Canadian electrical code rules I must follow for LED Lighting. They do not create the heat of a normal pot light so must I follow the same rules? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
good question. I can't seem to find anything specific in the CEC about LED's. Just that fixtures marked "Type Non-IC" shall not be installed within 76mm of insulation and fixtures marked "Type IC" can be in contact.
