laundry room wiring
 

i am wiring my new kitchen extention, in the laundry room i have the dryer sorted out but a bit hazy on the washer and receptical , the regular rec is on the main rec ciruit (15 amp) and i have a dedicated line to the washer rec but i ran 14/2 to it im thinking it should be 12/2 and does the other rec need to be on that same line seeing as it is in the laundry room. i am in ontario canada, thank you for taking the time to read this

As long as you put a 15A plug and 15A breaker you will be fine.

so the whole 20 amp circuit thing i am reading about online is for the US only?

As far as I know, that is the case. In the US, we are required to install 20 Amp dedicated circuits for the laundry, as well as for the small appliances in the kitchen.
