As for the wood mounting, I think that would fail as well. There is no specific code, but I'd be willing to bet the approved method to mount the terminal blocks are on a metal rail that would mounted to the box with screws. OK, I'll use the plastic snap in romex connectors. I see the safety issue there.

The terminal blocks are mounted to a metal rail that is bonded to the ground bar. I used the wood blocks to provide stability. I have other non-combustible material to use in the place of wood. Simple fix, but I'd still like to see a code reference to prohibit the wood blocks.

No idea, that's why I asked the question.

Most things electrical need to be UL-listed though. I'm guessing the wood isn't listed.
