Landscape lighting timer tripping off

I have a 500W landscape power supply with a timer (the analog type with a central rotating wheel) that intermittently trips off. Checked all the wiring and replaced all connections to the lights. I have replaced most lights with LED types so I am not even close to 500W ( I am probably using much less than 150W). One observation I noticed is occasionally when I am rotating the timer wheel, the circuit breaker on the power supply will trip off. And occasionally the circuit breaker at the panel box (controlling the power supply) will also trip off but not every time the power supply circuit breaker does. Is it possible that the timer is causing the tripping? Can anyone please suggest something that I may be overlooking? Thank you

If the breaker sometimes trips off while rotating the timer chances are there is something wrong with that timer. If you replace the timer I bet your problems will go away

Landscape lighting timer tripping off

Sorry for the time I have taken to reply. I have tried 3 different timers, 2 analogs and 1 digital and all three intermittently trip off. They can go on for 5-6 days and sometimes immediately as soon as I turn them on. There is no way this is a circuit overload but at the same time there is no other component in the unit besides the timer that can cause such a problem. Still puzzling!

Thank you.

Is it not possible that the unit is tripping due to a current spike at startup or, even, due to a faulty transformer? Can you duplicate the problem by removing the timer and plugging/unplugging the transformer a few times to see if it trips?

Do you see any relationship between tripping and weather? For example: does it happen mostly on rainy days?
