kitchen ceiling light is buzzing...is this normal?

I have 6 different lights installed into the ceiling of my kitchen, all connected to the same switch. However, one of the lights always starts to make a buzzing noise a few mins after I turn the lights on. It is a buzz that will go for anywhere from a few seconds to almost a minute. Then there will be a period of no noise, and then it starts again. And the cycle continues until I turn the lights off. Like I said, I have 6 lights total and only one of them makes this noise.

Has anyone every heard of something like this? And if so do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are they fluorescent lights? Could be a bad ballast.

Yeah, what kind of lights are they? If they're not fluorescent, then it sounds like you've got a loose connection arcing a bit, which could lead to a fire. You would want to take that light down and check all the connections.

Try a different light bulb.

If the light dims as it buzzes, you almost certainly have a loose connection that is arcing

To improve the contact of a screw in bulb, loosen it a quarter turn and then retighten. Do not make it too tight or it may be hard to take out when the time comes.

Thanks for the comments. It's a brand new set up as well as new light bulb. A friend said it was probably the spring in the light bulb itself so I'll try to fix that today and just get a new bulb from the store...hopefully it works, if not I'll be back on here again so you guys can help me out! lol

Swap that lamp with another one in the room and see if the buzzing moves, stops or stays in the same place.

I've had some cheapo incandescent bulbs make a noise before.

I got rid of them problem solved , crappy light anyways.

Switched out the bulbs out and it seems to have fixed itself...maybe it was the connection, maybe the bulbs. Just glad there is no more noise!
