Want to install under cabinet lighting in existing kitchen.
Have existing split receptacles (Pre GFCI age) all used.
Want to install new switch in new switch box and use LED ribbon lighting under cabinets. Total power draw under 40w
What is correct wiring procedure from LED driver to switch?
What wire and what protection for wire goes from driver (mounted under cabinet) through drywall board to switch box in wall cavity?
Yes. In Ontario.
I have access to separate circuit. (Not one of split duplexes)
I can bring the romex into the new switchbox.
I need to know if the input cable that comes with the driver can be taken through the drywall into one of the clamped ports of the switchbox. If I do, does the exposed part of this cable need extra protection?
The light manufacturers suggest their products can be direct wired, but I'm not sure this meets code.
