Kitchen appliances and NEC requirements

since the 2008 NEC we have always wired Garbage and dishwashers for cord and plug .. ( appliance cords )

Flexible Cords Serving Appliances in Kitchen, NEC 422-16: May be used to connect appliances to an electric outlet. Maximum cord length should be 18"-36" to connect a Garbage Disposal and 36"-48" to connect a built-in Dishwasher or Compactor.

if we run a 15 amp to the fridge then nothing else on that circuit ..

if we run a 20 amp then w'll use that to tap the gas stove/hood

210.52(b)2 can not tap sabc for the hood fan

most all new kitchens are getting a built in micro wave so normally that is a 20 amp to the micro wave ..

dish gets its own circuit
