Question

Karcher pressure washer

I have a Karcher pressure washer that has stopped working probably due to problem with the Inco Sintex 45S C3D capacitor. The case is plastic and considerably swollen. 16uF, AC425V B 25/85/21 AC450V 25/85/21 and AC 500V D 25/85/21. 50/60 Hz It is 70mm by 35mm in size with two 6.3mm terminal at the top, made in Italy. Has anyone ideas where I can purchase another. As in a previous query the motor tries to start but only moves a little, yet it spins quite freely when turned by hand. The body of this capacitor is obviouly swollen through heat.

all you need to ask for when getting a replacement is 16 microferad 470 volt run cap. your probably going to have to use a 15 though as 16 is a weird size

Most likely any voltage rating 300V or higher will work fine, and capacitance +/- a few uF or so should be fine too. You will not find an exact replacement.

Hi i got the same machine with the same problem.I rang Karcher and you can buy a new capacitor for around $45 , now to buy a new machine,Super cheap spares have one similar for $89 not worth it spending that much on a capacitor and perhaps it wont work..

I don't think that it should cost anywhere near $45!
