junction box

I am wiring up a cook top and a oven. I looked and it had an old junction box that was not deep enough to tie the wires together and put a cover over it. I am going to get a box can i use pvc or is metal better? I was looking at a 4 11/16 box metal or pvc box for my junction.

junction box

What is the wiring method, cable or conduit?
a 4/11 box will fit your needs, but the metal box must be bonded with the grond.

junction box

It consists of wires that tie the oven and cooktop together on 1 60 amp 2 pole breaker. I have a pvc box and wanted to make sure that it was ok to mount under the cabinet.
