Junction box


This is what one looks like.

You have already cut the hole for the old work box so I'd use that.(the blue one).

That would depend on how many wires had to fit in it and what the canopy on the fixture looked like.

Junction box


Thanks everyone. I wound up twisting the junction box a bit and the wings are all secure now.
Although I had it on hand the pancake box was my second option, I didn't need it. It all looks and works great now.
You guys are all great lots of helpful suggestions - from pros!!
