Jacuzzi Tub

I'm having a bit of an issue with the circuit that my bathroom Jacuzzi Tub is on. It's a 20A GFCI circuit. The issue is that the breaker will trip randomly. When you flip over the breaker it may stay "on" for weeks at a time before randomly tripping again. This issue is occuring when the tub is NOT in use.

My thinking is that since the water pump motor is not on when the problem is occurring, it's most likely an issue in with the wiring, or less likely, the circuit breaker itself. I've checked the connections on both the panel side and the pump side. The pump side's hot wire seemed a bit loose, so I restripped and tightened it up. I think there may be a chance that it was grounding out on the metal enclosure. I just did this a few hours ago, so I can't really tell if this was the problem for a few weeks.

My question is, if this wasn't the problem, what is my next step? Should I replace the circuit breaker, pull new wire, or am I off and could the motor itself be the problem? Thanks in advance!

Not professionally installed? More likely a problem with installation.

1) Disconnect the motor and make sure all wires are cleared (no nicks or cuts/pinched by connectors etc). If it still trips, it it the breaker or the wiring.

2) Replace the breaker. If it still trips, it's the wiring.

3) Return the breaker and replace the wiring.

I'm the second owner of the house. I believe it was "professionally" installed, but judging on the other work in the house, that doesn't mean much. I'll go through these steps (hopefully not all them!) and let you know how it goes.
