Issue with two motion detector lights

My contractor helped me out by wiring two outdoor motion detector lights to one switch inside my garage. I have both of them set with the same settings, but only one of the lights seems to function as it should.

The light closest to the switch goes out and only comes on with motion - just as I'd expect.
The other light remains on at all times - even with the same settings as the first light.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the 2nd one to be on motion-only as well? I'd love to have these lights turned on and ready to flood the backyard with light if anyone steps foot back there.

1. The lighting unit may be defective.

2. Can you make it work by changing the settings? A dial with unlabeled tick marks around it might not be "accurate".

The light uses a State Machine which changes states by having the power go off and on within a certain time interval. Check the instructions to get it back into the motion controlled state.
It's possible that with one switch you will not be able to get both lights into the proper state at the same time.

There may be some code-compliant way that you can interrupt the power to one of the two lights.
You set the first light into the correct state by using the inside switch and
then you set up the second light by using an outside plug or weatherproof toggle switch to set up the second light.

If there is no code-compliant way of doing this, you can get a tiny rubber-booted weatherproof toggle switch from Digi-Key or Mouser or some such place and mount it in the box for one of the lights.

The incremental loss of safety you will get from this can be balanced out by cutting back somewhat on your bungee jumping.
