Hi,
Lately I have had a baseboard heater in my office space run constantly no matter if the thermostat was turned down or not. I have replaced the old single pole thermostat with a new double pole model (Dimplex) and seem to have the same problem even though I have turned the thermostat off.
I am figuring that I must have made an error in wiring it up and was looking for some assistance.
The box has 3 sets of wires coming into it, line (supply) in the top, load out to the heater in the bottom and another that I am assuming is carrying supply power to the heater in the next room.
What I have done is to connect the red line wire to the red wire I am sure is carrying power then to one of the red line wires on the thermostat. I have done the same with the black line wires. I then wired the red load wire to one of the load wires on the thermostat and did the same with the black on the other (see diagram). All grounds are tied together and to the box.
Could someone please advise as to how I can get the thermostat working and the heat down before my electric bill is higher than the national debt?
Thanks for any and all help
Jeff
