Interior/Exterior Lights

First off thank you everyone on this forum, when a person needs help this is the place to go. I have a 2 gang box next to my patio door. One switch will be for the the living room lights and the other will be for my deck lights. I was wondering if I could bring one line in for both or do they have to be on separate breakers? Also if they both can be on one breaker does it need to be a gfci? Thanks for any input.

Both can use the same incoming power, no need for a GFI or two differant breakers.
If you add an outlet then you need a GFI if it's outside.

Technical correction. Only a receptacle would need the GFI protection. The lighting outlet does not.

Receptacles are outlets, but not all outlets are receptacles.

There is no need for GFI as both can use same power, its much more efficient for me...
