Insulation question

Hi,

I am adding another layer of insulation in my attic. Is it ok to put the batts right over the ceiling electrical boxes for my ceiling fans? Also, can it go over electrical wire since its sheathed?

Yes and yes as long as the cable is not bundled.

Insulation question

You need to go around and seal any openings in the ceilings and walls, before doing anything with insulation. Also you need to place baffles between each rafter space, to allow air movement, and not allow insulation to get pushed up against the roof.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?
