Insulating and sheetrocking around a fixture (code/hazard question)

Planning on adding insulation and sheetrock to the inside wall of an attic crawl space (attic converted to bedrooms, no insulation exists in wall between crawl space and rooms, crawl space side of the wall is open).

This type of light is on the wall inside the crawl space. Is it safe to put insulation around it? Is it a hazard? How do I sheetrock around the fixture?

Yes for insulation.no for hazard. Remove the light fixture rock the wall, put a hole in rock for the box, replace fixture.

Insulating and sheetrocking around a fixture (code/hazard question)

Sublime did wrote it up very nice and also one of my tricks I have done pretty often is use the hole saw and run that in reverse ( trust moi on this one it will last longer ) or use the rotozip this one you will have be carefull when you use this ( this is not the tool for the firsttimers unless you understand how it runs )

For the rest of electrique cables make sure they are more than 1.5 inches away from the edge otherwise if you have stray screw or nail that will ruin your day.

Merci,
Marc
