Installing wall sconces - have Knob & Tube want to replace with new wiring


How do I install new wall sconces when my old ones were nob and tube and the wiring is soldered

Installing wall sconces - have Knob & Tube want to replace with new wiring


Post a picture---Should be a mater of cutting the wire in order to attach the new using wire nuts--Mike---

Actually most new fixtures instructions say to attach to 90C wire, so 110.3(B) is a player.

(B) Installation and Use. Listed or labeled equipment
shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions
included in the listing or labeling

Working with knob and tubing wire is a project that can south real quick, if you are inexperienced. I would seek out an electrician and let him/her take the responsibility.
