installing outlet in kitchen island

Hello,
I have a moveable kitchen island and I'm going to be installing an electrical outlet in it. In order for it to become "permantly fixed" I will be putting a bead of clear silicone caulk all around it so it doesn't move, the wire will run down the inside of the island in a metal wiring tube and go through ceramic in a junction box in the ceiling of the basement, from there I will connect it to another electrical wire to the main panel. This way if for some reason the island falls over or some crazy thing like that, the wire gets disconnected at the junction box where the stress occurs rather than pulling on the main panel.

I guess my questions are 1. would the silicone method be enough or do I need to do more to make the island permanent
2. what do you guys think of the wiring method?

Thanks
ps: what would you guys use to drill into the ceramic?

Wether or not silicone hold remains to be seen. I would use a more permenant method. You did not mention the actual wiring method. IF you use romex it has to be protected from physical damage. This "metal pipe" may or may not be adequate. AS for drilling the ceramic tile, use a diamond or carbide tip bit.

thanks for the reply, yes it will be rommex, and the metal tubing is that round metal shield for exposed wires.

What permanent method would you use? it's sitting on ceramic currently

Screw a couple of 2x4 to the floor and secure it to them.
