Installing an Outdoor Outlet

I need to install an outdoor outlet for my patio and I have a couple of questions. I know I need a GFI outlet but I'm not sure about any other codes for Dallas, TX.

1. Can I tie the outlet off the dishwasher outlet which is on the inside wall or is this bad practice?

2. How far away from the outside water faucet do I need to be? The location I'm looking at it about 2ft away.

Kitchen outlets are off limits, can't use them
Laundry & bathroom also no go
Basement is OK
You need an in use wet cover
I usually put a GFCI outlet inside & feed a normal outlet outside

There isn't really a distance from the hose required
The further the better so you don't trip it
Since its GFCI protected its OK

The dishwasher receptacle (if it's not hard-wired) is not a wall receptacle as covered in 210.52(a) and is not subject to to the kitchen only restriction. It is however limited by restrictions on general branch circuit loads.

I would advise against using the dishwasher circuit even if it's allowable in the will likely be using power tools outside while the DW is running - may lead to annoying breaker trips.
