Installing New Porch Light, Electrical Box

My current porch only has one light on the side of the door and I want to replace it with a more modern light as well as add a light on the other side of the door. For the new light, what type of wall box do I use? Round or Square? Can I just use a regular nail-in ceiling box for ceiling mounted light fixtures. Also, this wall is adjacent to my living room which has paneling that I am removing at the same time. So I will have interior access to the wall and studs.

If you can access it, a nail-on box will work fine. You are better off sticking to round boxes for lights because the brackets are made for them.
