I'm not sure how to wire my kitchen lights. I'm going to install five 5" recessed lights in my kitchen. Do I wire them in series , or should I run all the wires into a box and wire them in parallel? I'm going to use CFL bulbs in them if that makes any difference.
Either way they are wire in parallel. Physically they might look like series, so I get what you mean.
Wiring to a j-box and out to the lights from there typically seems like a good idea to a DIY, but this is a very poor way of wiring. It adds failure points and creates splices with a large number of conductors, also a problem for most DIYers.
Just wire from light to light. Are you experienced enough to know how this works?
