installing ikea ceiling lamp

i am trying to install an ikea ceiling lamp which has a black wire a white wire and a green/yellow wire, in the ceiling here is a white a red and black and brown wire. which wires connect to which

Are you in Chicago area ?

If so then brown is your switched connection but before you do that double check to make sure.

And I am seriously advise you make sure you turn off the breaker on this circuit due you may have MWBC { MultiWire Branch Circuit } there.

allo Marc, i live in toronto, merci de m'avoir repondu, here is my problem.
i tried connceting the wires and kept blowing the fuse each time i try turning the switch to the off position.
any advise you may have helping me with this would be greatly apprecieated.

Do you have a test light with you if so read between the black et white and red et white also white et brown but I doubut it due that brown may be a faded white from older conductor { wire } and look at your switch to take a quick peek how it hook up and post us the colour.
