Installing GE SunSmart 3-Way Digital Timer

Having trouble with installing the GE SunSmart Digital Timer on a 3-way switch for a set of light in my kitchen. In the Kitchen I have 5 switches for 5 different rows of lights in the kitchen. In the Dining Room there is 3 switches of which one of the switches turns on and off one if the row of lights in kitchen. I installed the timer to the switch in the Dining Room which is connected to the lights in the Kitchen. I can turn on and off the lights in the kitchen using the switch in the Dining Room. In the Kitchen I can turn the lights off only with the switch. If I try to turn on the lights in the Kitchen using the switch in the Kitchen, the lights do not come on. Why?

In the dining room, I connected the the red line on the timer to the red line in the outlet, the blue line on the timer to a black line in the outlet and the black line on the timer to the black line in the outlet, white line on the timer to white in the outlet. The green line on the timer, I have not connected to any line.
