Installing a Bathroom Fan
Hi,
I am in the process of replacing a bathroom fan/light/night light combo. Unfortunately, when I took the old fan out, I did not label any of the wiring so I am now at a loss to re-connect the new fan. The existing wiring in the ceiling consists of 3 12/2 wires and one 14/3 wire. I have a switch outside the bathroom for the fan light, then a 3 receptacle box for the fan, night light and vanity lights. There are six wires coming out of the new fan (plus the ground): black and white (for the fan?), blue and white (for the light?) and red and white (for the night light?). How do I connect the existing wiring to the new fan? |
I think you are going to need to rework some wiring. I don't think you have a chance to fit 4 cables into the tiny junction boxes on an exhaust fan.
