Info on Double lug meter socket

needing info on maybe using a dbl lug meter socket to supply my detached garage.
house main panel is 200 amp. planning on useing 80 amp.or 100 amp main panel in garage. distants betwen the two will be about 80 feet.
would i need a 200 amp or a 320 amp dbl lug meter socket to do this?.
main panel in house needs replaced cause of the history of it (old sylvania :-( ). got a price of 650.00 to replace it.with a semans.
i have a milbank socket now 1978 model, any way of telling what it is without opening it up?
so what size dbl lug socket i need?
size wire for the distants?
and any additional info be helpful or better ideals

without a load calculation on the house and garage, the rest is just guessing.

If you do not know how to do these get a good book on residential wiriing and read that first, or hire someone to do the calculations for you.
