One of my 3 way light switches wan't working properly. One switch would have to be "on" for the other to work. I took them both out and realized the common switch had a white wire in one and a black in the other. I made it so they were the same but it's still not working properly.
An electrical tester would be very helpful.... at the least, let us know which wire colors are where. You never know if the electrician actually used the same wire colors in both locations like he/she was supposed to.
