WTF!?!? Who would need 16 chargers plugged in at once.

This thing has been floating aroung the wab for over a year now. It was found in a house Mike Holmes was working on on his show. I was suspected that the person had a modem bank plugged in there. No code issues as far as placement that I know of

Yeah only violation is if it's all on one circuit, but if it's split up, they're fine. Come to think of it, it kinda reminds me of this:

I made that for my computer setup, cleaner than having a bunch of power bars. Have 4 outlets to spare. 3 monitors, printer, computer, speakers, misc stuff like pencil sharpener... adds up quick!

Umm still from one of the Mike Holmes episodes. I remember that one, it was also the one, that they had the garden hose hooked up under the sink, and some other weird stuff going on.

Haha some of the stuff on that show makes me laugh. I still like the one where this "basement specialist" totally botched a basement job beyond bad. All the moulding was crooked, almost every electrical outlet was actually broken, and when they started to tear everything out no wires were stapled and they found a piece of wood that said "My first basement ever!" Hilarious. As if that contractor had the balls to say it was a finished job and leave it like that. Was probably one of the worse ones.

Here in the U.S. it would be legal for all those receptacles to be on one circuit. Stupid, but legal.

gregzoll 01-12-2013 08:59 AM

Actually wasn't that the home owner that botched that one.

Is it near an exterior door or window?

Christmas light controller outlets? (Connected to a LOA Controller....)

Just remembered...Several years back, before the advent of DSL and cable internet there was dialup internet. Durring that era a restaurant down the street from me had an unusually large phone cable running into it. Probably about 2-3 inch dia. One day I was talking to the owner and asked him about it. He said "come on I'll show you". In one of the "closets" in the back room there was a modem bank and switch gear arraingemnet for one of the internet companies in our area. Remember, on dialup when you used to get a busy signal when trying to connect? That was because all of the modems were in use on that type of setup. In that room there were about 300-350 modems all pluged into recepticles mounted in 4x4 boxes. Conduit everywhere going to a 200 amp breaker panel. The restaurant owner was getting $300.00/month rent on a 10 x 10 room. They paid all of their own electric and the excess heat from the system went into the restaurant durring the winter and out a vent durring the summer

There is no code violation. There could be 1000 receptacles on one circuit.
