I just bought a 60 gal Husky compressor and just wanted to make sure I was on the right track with the electrical install.
It's a 240 volt (compressor says 15amp and manual says 20amp) and did not come with a cord. From what I've researched I'm thinking the following: dedicated 240v circuit using a double pole 20 amp breaker. Running 12/2 Romeo from box through basement to garage wall. Then hook into a junction box on the garage side of the wall. Run the 12/2 through aluminum conduit to a safety on/off switch. Then from there through a flexible conduit to the compressor.
I guess my main concerns are:
1) Does this seem correct overall?
2) Can I use the 12/2 and the 20amp double pole breaker?
3) Do I have to use aluminum conduit or can I use the plastic?
4) On the safety switch does it have to be a 20 amp 240volt or can I use a 30amp 240 volt? Does it have to be the same size as the breaker I'm using in the main box?
Any help is greatly appreciated as always.
Thanks,
Jason
