How to wire an exterior flood light to a new combination switch
 

I have an exterior flood light I would like to connect inside my garage. The garage has multiple "double outlets" inside the garage to plug things into. I want to replace a double outlet with a combination switch/outlet so I can control the flood light on & off. I ran the wire from the flood light to one of the outlets but I am not sure how to connect all the wires.

So I want to use the switch for the flood light and still have full use of the one outlet but I don't want the switch turning off the outlet at all; so I have not removed the tab.

Power should have been ran to the light, then a switch leg down to the switch.

It also should not be just pluged in to an outlet.

Power was run to the outlet and I am not "plugging" the flood light into the outlet. I have power coming from the sub panel to the outlet. SO you are saying I need to run 50' of wire to connect one flood light to a sub panel?

None of your pictures came through so anyone trying to help is working blind.
As an alternitive it can be done like this.

On the back of the new combo switch you should see two dark screws labeled as "common". On the other side, you'll have A1 and N.

Don't break the tab. It "feeds" the switch.

Connect the black wire from the feed, not the light, to "common."
Connect the black wire from the light to A1. This will be switched.

Connect all your neutrals together, the two from both lines AND one to the N terminal on the switch.

Ground it.

Done.
