i built my son a new room and need to run the power to it he wants four outlets and a light with a switch to just work the light what is the best and cost efficiently way to do it your self. i was told to run the wire to the outlets and to switch then to light i understand to run black to brass white to silver on the outlets but when i get to the switch i'm a little lost how to hook up switch and from light can any body explain do i hook it all black to brass white to silver

At the switch connect the two whites to each other and NOT to the switch.
Connect the two blacks to the switch, one to each screw.
Connect the two bare together and to the green screw on the switch.

Depending on the size of the room, 4 receptacles may not be enough to meet code.
