How to wire a 2-prong lamp to a ceiling mount with an existing ground

Hey all, I just bought a lamp from Ikea that has a 2-prong plug on the end of the power cable. I would like to replace my existing chandelier with it, but the existing light has a ground cable running through the chain. The new light only has 2 wires, power and neutral. The box in the ceiling has power, neutral, and a bare ground cable. What should be done with the ground cable once the power and neutral are wired up? And how much more of a risk is it to not ground the light when it's mounted in the ceiling through a dimmer switch, than with it just plugged in the wall with it's original 2-prong plug? Thanks for any help!
