How to mend underground sprinkler electrical wire

Some digging over a sprinkler pipe resulted in a broken pipe and a cut electrical wire. There are three wires(one red, two white) that run along the sprinkler pipe. I assume these supply 24 volts to the underground manifold box.

I know how to repair the pvc. What's a good way to mend the electrical wire (in a water tight way)?

There are direct-bury connectors that are made specifically for sprinkler lines. Some are push-in, some are twist-on. Just get a foot or so of extra wire, and connect it in between the cut ends.
